1. Flying Over Flying Regulations
High end drones like the DJI Phantom 2 or the DJI Inspire 1, can achieve an altitude of about 3000 feet. Such a feat however, might land you in trouble with the FAA over flying regulations.
2. Proposal
Propose to your girlfriend. It would be considered a romantic gesture to get down on your knee and have a drone deliver the ring – but only she was super geeky. If you were already married or not romantically inclined you can always use a DJI Phantom 2 to drop a care basket at your mum’s during Mother’s day.
3. Las Vegas
In Las Vegas, high fliers are treated to drone Champagne delivery service. Nothing crowns your Vegas decadence like a multi rotor blade drone such as DJI S1000 whirling down bearing a bucket of champagne in the middle of a pool party.
4.Search and Rescue
Armed with infrared cameras drones are very effective search engines, especially during the night rescue missions. Drones capable of up to 62 miles/hr, such as OFM Seeker- 450 can rapidly cover a large search area.
5. Sporting Events
Quadcopter drones have been used to cover great sporting event like the Winter Olympic in Sochi and capture unique footage. Drones such as the DJI S1000 and Cinestar - 8 are more versatile and stable compared to cable suspended cameras and have greater maneuverability while covering event such as skiing and snowboarding.
6. Delivery
Deliver packages. Amazon, Google and UPS are test-driving drone programs for use in parcel delivery. If successful, parcel delivery will be accompanied by a telltale whirling sound of a multi-rotor blade. Is it a bird… is it a plane? It’s Amazon Air.
7. Wildlife Warrior
Protect wildlife – wildlife parks are large and extensive and aerial surveys using airplanes are well, expensive. If you are a wildlife enthusiast and don’t have a pilot’s license, your dexterity with a drone might land you a position with the park ranges. Camera mounted drones such as OFM seeker-450 and 3-D Robotics Y6 & X8 are especially powerful and bear more payloads and feature a double mount.
8. Map Maker
Create 3 –D maps. Well, not entirely by themselves, but the series of aerial photographs captures by drones are stitched together to create 3-D models especially by the Geographic, Surveying and Mapping institutes. Drones capable of higher payloads such as TBS Discovery Pro are rigged up with equipment which records the relevant data. Guess being a scientist isn’t that boring after all.
9. Farming
Monitor crops. Okay this might come off as a boring endeavor, but not if you were the farmer with hundreds of acres under crops. No longer will you have to take hours to cover your patrol the farm, just rig up a drone such as a DJI Vision 2+ and monitor the farm from the comfort of your office. Include sophisticated technology and you have a splendid M&E strategy that doesn’t cost an arm and two legs.
10. TV Ads
Create awesome TV ADS. Ad makers say drones such as DJI S1000 and CineStar-8can give a more polished, cinematographic look with sweeping aerial shots that can make commercials stand out from the everyday mundane stuff on TV.They can offer great shots of roadshows and rallies, political or otherwise.
